Winter Blahs

I'm sitting at the computer looking out the back window and wondering, "Where did the Summer go?" It seems like yesterday I was riding events and making either joy rides or trips to the store. All gone. Just to ice the cake we have even had a pair of snowstorms in the last couple of weeks. One melted by itself off the driveway while the second one required snow thrower intervention. The balmy temperatures of October and November have given way to chilling temps in the thirties during the day and twenties during the night. A pair of my fleet have been exceptionally resistant to starting during the weekly ritual as a result. The only bright spot is one can take solace knowing Spring is a mere three months away.
What keeps my heart warm is the memory of the year past. Despite missing Americade I had a fairly full season starting in April with a Bike Night at Ole Savannah in Kingston and ending with a pair of events on Saturday and Sunday at the end of September. As previously noted the high point was a visit from my brother with his new to him Honda V65 Sabre, a veritable rocket ship in its day and no slouch today either. I got to show him around some of the best roads around here ending with a big event in Kingston. The weekend covered over 200 miles and we enjoyed every minute.
In the meantime I watch YouTube videos with all manner of bike and scooter subjects. I can live vicariously through those rides and imaging myself at the helm of the machines in the video. Spring will be here soon enough but not soon enough. If you catch my drift.
