The Red Knights Ride
I'm still buzzing from the ride so bear with me. It started 5 miles from here. I took the CF Moto just for laughs and carrying capacity. When I got there I found out that it was a self navigating ride so no big crowd in the way. Once the scooter got good and hot it really ran well. I had to stop at three checkpoints to pick cards, toss Corn Hole and throw darts. At the end toss Horse Shoes.
The roads, of course, were long and twisty and the scooter handled
like it was glued to the roads. For a long, low ride it was cooking.
Anyway. I got back to the finish first, walk into the Knights of
Columbus hall where it started and the club people are sitting there.
Someone got up and asked if they could help me and I whipped out my
check sheet with scores on it. "You're back already!?" The
former South Shore Road Captain burned it up. I hung around for an
hour waiting for food that hadn't cooked yet and quietly departed. As
I was leaving a group finally pulled in and the cooking began. At
that point it was only me and one other Harley guy.
I gotta tell you. Every time I tossed the scooter into a turn I said
to myself, "How's that. Good enough?" We just rocked the
day. Ninety miles in 90 degree heat of tire scorching fun. Not bad
for a 15 year old Chinese scooter and old guy on board working the
handlebars.
