Yesterday I did a Shoot and Scoot event. Dart tossing, horseshoes, pick a card any card etc. I did the event last year on the CF Moto 250 and since it was a Do It Yourself and follow the route sheet ride I blew through it quickly. I decided, after hearing it was a DIY ride again this year, to use the 250 Nighthawk. Suffice it to say between my Timed Road Run and Road Captain experience we were even quicker with the additional power and handling of the Honda. Registration ran from nine to eleven AM and I got there at 9:30 and hit the road ten minutes later. We did the sixty miles or so briskly, even with stops, and returned at Noon.

I walked into the Knights of Columbus Hall and a young lady, who remembered me from last year when I scorched the route on the CF Moto said, "Again!". Someone else walked out of the kitchen saying, "You're back already?" and the young lady said to him, "He did the same thing last year."

I hung around for about forty-five minutes, No food was cooking yet so I grabbed a few bakery chocolate chip cookies and a couple of cans of soda and headed out. At that time none of the other participants were back yet. The trip home was a lengthy four miles long so I was back here at 1:00 PM after leaving a little after 9:00 AM.

This ride doesn't attract a lot of attention even in its second year and really should get more. Last year 25 people signed up and it improved slightly to 38 this year so there's hope. I'm going to spend the next twelve months waiting for it to come around again. I like doing a ride by myself and follow a route sheet. This is how it was in the old days and I like seeing the scenery without a crowd of riders around me. Hopefully they won't change a thing next year.
