Ride To Come
Posted by Jim Zeiser on Monday, August 4, 2025
I have certainly been inactive since June 1st except for a couple of milk and takeout runs. But that is about to change. This coming weekend there is a ride I did last year that I really liked and I'm looking forward to it. I checked with one of the organizers and it will be a group or do it yourself ride with game stops along the route. In that environment I don't have to worry about people around me, just the usual traffic. I can go into corners and down the road at my own pace as briskly or sedately as I choose. In the coming days I will have to decide which bike to ride. At the moment it's the 1991 Honda.
The Honda has been sorely neglected in the last year or so. When I took it in for inspection in April I noted that it had only done 119 miles since the last inspection. While my riding miles had dropped some since the year before I didn't think the Honda had sat that much. It had. It is my most faithful puppy requiring little tinkering and ready to start at a moment's notice even after sitting for lengthy periods of time. It deserves a good run.
I will, of course, have an accompanying video. Hopefully there will be more bikes present than the last time I did this event. At that one there were only about twenty-five people. I have posted the ride on Facebook this year for, no doubt, more people to see. I'm sure that may have the desired effect. I will let you know.
