The process of transferring goods from my Deposit house to Hyde Park started slowly with Linda and I bringing the dogs to the new place three weeks ago. We had a delay for a week but this past Saturday we began moving the heavier goods in earnest in my recently acquired Dodge minivan. Some tools, lawn equipment and clothing were packed into the car. As I reported last week we are finally in the house in Hyde Park. It's been a very tumultuous week with workers installing flooring in the Master Bedroom, painting and doing repair work on the back deck. All the work was completed this past Friday and we have residual damage to repair ourselves. Paint spots were left in many obnoxious places including doors, moulding, carpets and furniture. The people themselves were cordial but their work ethic left much to be desired.

In my last post I listed all the difficulties we were experiencing in moving into our new home in Hyde Park. I can happily say all has been overcome and I am now sitting in Hyde Park pounding out this prose. Linda was able, with a short but firm e-mail, to seemingly move all the impediments aside and make everyone commit to a closing date for the house. As many of you know Linda and I are eventually moving to Hyde Park, just north of Poughkeepsie. I've bought three houses before this, in my life, but this purchase has been troublesome. We found a house in Poughkeepsie but the hidden problems found during the Home Inspection were too numerous to ignore.
