2023 Wrap Up

Well, maybe a wrap up. If nothing else comes along. This was one heck of a year in some ways and a light ride in others. First, the biggie was the seven days in May/June at Americade. I spent a good amount of time riding the lake region with my longtime friend Marc and his sons totaling about 800 miles on the odometer of my thundering Kawasaki. We rode a guided ride to Whiteface Mountain, made numerous lunch and dinner runs and did a couple of hundred miles trying out the roads in the very scenic Adirondack region.I even parked my anxiety to do a demo ride on a small 125cc mini motorcycle. The weather was great, the event was memorable and walking the streets looking at every kind of motorcycle was time well spent.
Coming back to home there were a few Bike Nights and events that were great fun. I took every bike I have to at least one of them and they all behaved properly. Well, okay, the CF Moto scooter got a flat from a bad inflation valve but after that everything was flawless. I got to use the bikes for milk and takeout food runs. A task that the scooters excel at.
Another Crown Jewel was the weekend in September when my brother Bill trailered his bike down from Fairport. On Saturday I took Bill on some of the better roads in the County for a sixty-six mile tour. At the end Bill uttered, "This was a nice ride" which made me smile. The next day we rode over to Kingston to do a charity ride in the Catskills. It capped off a fabulous couple of days and we plan to do it again.
So overall it was a great riding season and, except for a few missed rides due to other plans and weather, will sit in the fond memory section of my mind in the coming frosty months. If anything else happens I'll let you know.
