After using the 50cc bike twice last week I thought that the riding season had finally arrived. "Not so fast Mr. Zeiser", said Mother Nature. This past week has been a mixed bag of single digit and below zero wind chills, light snow and freezing rain. Not exactly conducive to riding anything. Even the dogs are tired of this weather and my cat won't even go near the door to try and visit the great outdoors. Worse yet is that the price of gas has risen about twenty-five cents the last couple of weeks to near or above $4.00 a gallon. I'm caught paying vast sums of money at every fill up with the minivan and dying to combat the forces of the Petroleum Giants with my gas sipping vehicles. It's going to be a very active riding season, weather permitting, if for no other reason than the need to save money at the pump. The 50cc bike gives me a major leg up at the pump with its 105 miles per gallon. If it would go about 10 mph faster it would be a major source of usage. Of course if it did go faster it wouldn't sip fuel. In the meantime I scour the extended forecasts just hoping to see warmer temperatures without precipitation. Waiting, waiting.......
