If I had to describe the way the Big Ruckus behaves I would have to say it's the most unscooterlike scooter I've ever been around. Of course I'm not an authority but I have two other scooters in the garage and the BR is not like them at all. First off it doesn't have a flat footboard in the middle of it to move your feet around on, only the two footboards on either side like a cruiser motorcycle. It's also much lower to the ground and sits like a conventional motorcycle unlike the sit up position of most regular scooters. If I had to put the sensation in words that made sense it would be that the BR is like an automatic Honda Rebel. Having ridden a Rebel and the BR back to back that's about as close a comparison as I can make.
It has turned out to be a fairly comfortable machine, something I didn't expect, and it makes the eighty mile round trips to Binghamton fairly enjoyable. Once I hang a windshield on it I'm sure I'll want to take it further and see what a long trip on a scooter is like. That will be a very interesting story.
