The weather finally started to cooperate last week and I got to pull out more of the fleet. In one day I even got to take out the two red bikes, my 250 Honda and the 200cc scooter. Both ran well and had me riding around the area viewing the ongoing change of the season as trees and bushes turn from darkly brown to colorful buds. Both bikes are great fun to ride a casual pace on the entertaining roads around here. I even briefly took the new scooter out on the less than pleasant US 9 that passes by many stores and strip malls in the Hyde Park/Poughkeepsie area just to see how it handled it. They both ran well and are up to the task of carrying me just about anywhere I choose to take them.
I needed to get to Town the next day and fired up the big scooter. It was a little hesitant a first but after a mile of running it cleared out quite nicely. I always enjoy using this scooter. It keeps up with traffic easily, is quite comfortable, has more than adequate cargo space and is my longest owned machine. I checked in with a local mechanic about a future task and then proceeded to return home.
In addition to mechanized travel Linda and I had an excellent visit with her son and family for Easter. We hid Easter eggs in the yard and enjoyed watching the grandchildren search for them. Presents awaited them after they found all their designated eggs and watching them play with the new toys is always a pleasure to observe. We had a glorious meal to mark the occasion and returned home with more warm memories to recall.
This weekend will be the first motorcycle event of the season and you can be sure of pictures and video in the the next installment. See you then.
